I especially look forward to using the personal inventory feature, and having the ability to see which suppliers carry the parts. Although I’m pretty happy with http://findchips.com for that function.

One feature I would beg for would be the ability to import inventory from a csv file. Mouser, Digikey, Future all allow spreadsheet downloads of invoices, and with a little excel magic said spread sheet could be transformed into a simple csv file. When I place a parts order, I can just upload my invoice in csv format and presto, more parts added to the database.

1) The ability to import part descriptions in csv format
2) The ability to trivially duplicate a part, so I can make different members of a family of parts more easily.
3) An attributes field, so I can do things like specify the package for electronics parts that come in multiple packages. I think this will make the parts database easier to search and use as it grows. Here are some attributes I would find useful:
— package (for electronics parts)
— material (for any kind of mechanical part)
— finish

Of course, right now reprapped parts are pretty scarce, but that’s starting to change.
